Servings: 6
Cost: $2-5
Equipment
- 1 Pressure Cooker
Ingredients
- 1 lb bag dry beans kidney, pink or white beans
- 6 cups water optional to add vegetable stock or mix stock and water
- 2 - 3 cloves garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Optional to add veggie or chicken bullion
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a pressure cooker.
- Set the pressure cooker to cook at high for 50 minutes to 1 hour (if cooking chickpeas, cook for about 45 minutes). You can start out at a lower time and always add time. If the beans look wrinkly, they need to cook for longer and reset your pressure cooker for another 10 minutes. If they are mushy, they may be overcooked. I prefer a but over cooked to under cooked.
- Make yummy dishes like the one below. Just beans on olive oil bread
